Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery Joins Bridgeport’s Growing North Suffolk Lineup
Bridgeport in North Suffolk is sweetening the tenant mix. Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery, a nationally recognized bakery specializing in gourmet cupcakes and small-batch ice cream made fresh daily, is the newest addition to Bridgeport’s curated retail community.
The new bakery is located at 1301 Bridgeport Way, Suite 105, with an expected opening date in late summer 2025.
Owned and operated by Wendy and Randy Connolly, this marks the couple’s second Smallcakes location in Hampton Roads, following the success of their Newport News shop. Wendy, the heart and hands behind the operation, brings creativity and grit to the brand—baking, managing, designing interiors, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Smallcakes has gained national attention as a three-time featured bakery on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and was voted “Best Place to Get a Cupcake” by USA Today. The brand is beloved for its wide range of imaginative cupcake flavors and creamy ice creams, all made from scratch in-house.
